On 6th October, 7 children from Form 5 represented St David’s at the Croydon Schools Cross-Country Competition at Lloyd Park. The children were: Arun, Dylan, Shayan, Joseph, Saanvi, Sirena and Mina.

The competition involved many schools from across Croydon, with approximately 200 children competing in each race. The course was 1.6km long with a tricky uphill section at the start, but all of the St David’s children showed great determination and spirit throughout, and crossed the finish line with both a smile and a feeling of relief. Our best-placed boy was Arun (77th) and our best-placed girl was Saanvi (74th), so an extra well done to both of them.

It was great to have parents there to cheer on all the children and show their support. Form 6 were due to compete as well, but with the Covid-19 outbreak, this was not possible. There will be more cross-country opportunities later in the year for both Form 5 & 6 children and Mr Smith looks forward to taking the children to more sporting events and fixtures throughout this academic year.
