Admissions Process

We hope that having looked through this website you will want to visit the School and meet our Head Teacher. We offer individual tours at your convenience. These are a great opportunity to look around St David’s with your son or daughter and to meet staff and pupils on an informal basis.

Please note that we have limited places available in some classes from Nursery to Form 6. If you are interested in a place for your child, or would like to register a sibling of a child already attending, please contact us as soon as possible.


The majority of pupils join the Nursery class at St David’s in the September directly before their fourth birthday, when a maximum of 22 places are available. Children progress to the Reception class in the Autumn term which precedes their fifth birthday, when additional places may become available. Children are welcome to join Nursery in the actual term of their third birthday, but please note that these children will remain with their correct age group and will not progress to Reception until the September which precedes their fifth birthday.

There are no formal Entrance Tests for pupils wishing to enter the Early Years classes. To apply for a place at St David’s, a School Registration Form and Confidential Information Form must be completed and sent with a non-returnable £150 Registration Fee to the School Office. A letter of confirmation will be sent out on receipt of this form confirming the details.


Pupils are considered for admission into Forms 1 to 6 subject to satisfactory assessment and at the discretion of the Head Teacher. Children will be given the opportunity to spend a trial day in the appropriate class group. The Head Teacher will require a copy of their child’s latest school report and the St David’s class teachers will submit a brief report to the Head Teacher following the child’s visit, commenting on the general all-round ability compared to the rest of the class group and the prospects of harmonious social integration within the group. Before any class visits take place, parents are required to complete the School Registration Form and Confidential Information Form and pay the non-returnable £150 Registration Fee.


An Acceptance Fee of £1000 per child is payable on formal acceptance of a place. This is refundable on the final invoice when the child leaves the School. A copy of our Acceptance Form,  Terms and Conditions and Cancellation Notice can be downloaded here.
