Inspection Report

School Inspectorate

We are delighted to share with you the excellent outcome of our recent ISI inspection in June 2026.

We were extremely pleased that the inspectors were able to acknowledge and celebrate so many of the strengths that make our school such a special place. It recognises our ambitious curriculum, the strength of our school values and the character of our pupils. The report reflects the dedication of our staff, the enthusiasm of our pupils, and the support and partnership of our families.

We were especially proud that the inspectors highlighted the strength of our pupils’ social and economic education and their contribution to society. These aspects of school life are central to our vision, helping children to develop not only academically but also as thoughtful, responsible and compassionate members of their communities. It is wonderful to see the many opportunities our pupils have to engage with the wider world recognised so positively.

An ISI report will always identify an area for development. Ours is to involve pupils more consistently in assessing their own learning. We welcome this recommendation, as it aligns with our own self-evaluation, and have already begun implementing strategies to help pupils take greater ownership of their learning through reflection on their progress and targets.

Since changes to the inspection framework in 2023, ISI inspection reports no longer provide schools with an overall judgement or grade, but instead report on compliance or non-compliance in five different aspects of school life:

•             Leadership, Management and Governance

•             Quality of Education, Training and Recreation

•             Pupils’ Physical and Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing

•             Pupils’ Social and Economic Education and Contribution to Society

•             Safeguarding

I am delighted to confirm that St David’s was found to be compliant in all areas.

Inspection provides a valuable opportunity to reflect on our practice, celebrate our successes and continue striving for excellence. We are grateful to the inspectors for their thoughtful feedback and are proud that the report captures so much of what we know makes our school a happy, nurturing and ambitious environment for children to learn and grow.

Thank you for your continued support of the school. We hope you enjoy reading the report and sharing in our pride at its findings.
