Sport Update

It’s been a busy week for the Sports department with the following fixtures:

KS2 Cross Country at Farthing Downs

A small group of children in KS2 took to Farthing Downs to race in their annual run. There was some excellent grit and determination on show. A big shout out to James (Form 3) who finished in 5th place, and Emma (Form 6) who finished in 8th place. Well done to all the runners!

U11 Basketball

St David’s hosted a local friendly basketball competition where they were joined by pupils from Royal Russell, St Peter’s and Gresham Primary School. The eight teams competed in group fixtures, followed by play-offs, developing their tactics as they went along and showing great determination.

We are delighted to say that our Form 6 team came first in the competition, beating Royal Russell in the final. Our Form 5 team finished joint 7th, which was very respectable considering this was their first experience of a competitive basketball game.

U9 Hockey v Royal Russell

Our U9 Hockey team travelled to Royal Russell for some more friendly matches. It was such a lovely afternoon and a great learning experience for our teams. Playing 5-a-side, one St David’s team drew 2-2 and the other lost 6-1.

U11 Boys & Girls Football v Audley

Today, our U11 boys and girls took part in some friendly matches vs Audley School. There were two very exciting matches, which resulted in a 9-0 win for the Boys and a 4-3 win for the Girls.
