Form 3’s visit to the Hindu Mandir in Coulsdon really helped to consolidate all they have learnt about Hinduism this term. In the Mandir they saw the shrine which had many brightly coloured pictures of deities (Hindu gods) including Krishna, Vishnu, Parvati and Rama. They learnt that most deities have a special animal associated with them and a day of the week when they are specifically worshipped. The significance of the different items on the puja tray was explained to the class and they were told about the Hindu belief in reincarnation.  As staff, we were really impressed with how much the children already knew and the deep philosophical questions they were asking. Well done Form 3!
