Form 4 had a wonderful Geography session this afternoon, continuing with their topic of Volcanoes. All of the children are able to describe and write about the different formation types including Composite/Strato, Dome and Shield volcanoes; and understand the differences between an active, dormant and extinct volcano.
The class watched some of the news footage from the recent Hunga Tonga Hunga Ha’apai volcano eruption; and looked at the long and short term effects and consequences. They rounded off their lesson with some Volcano Facts Top Trumps! Thank you to Emma, who brought in some really interesting volcanic rocks from Mount Etna – they felt extremely light.
