Victorian Workshop

Last month, the children in Form 1 stepped back in time to enjoy a day in the life of a Victorian child. They took part in a number of school activities from learning the four ‘Rs’ which included reading from a primer, writing on a slate board and solving mathematical problems using an abacus. They learnt about Victorian school punishment and they definitely decided they wouldn’t have liked their fingers in a finger stock or to have worn a back board to keep them straight all day! They also had the opportunity to play with all sorts of different old-fashioned toys and the behaviour and good manners they showed Alan our facilitator, were just superb. Well done to the children in Form 1.
