In Maths, Form 3 have been exploring Length and Measure this week. After estimating and then measuring some classroom objects, they took to the corridor to try out the trundle wheels and some larger measurements. Having mastered the length of some of the corridors, they decided to have an estimate of the length of the playground and off they went to explore the accuracy of their estimates.

Some of the children wanted a bit more of a challenge and decided to abandon the trundle wheels for a more time-consuming effort: tape measures and even 30cm rulers! A special mention to Isla and Shaylen who stuck to their method of using a ruler for the entire length of the playground and with some SUPER team work and mental addition, they finally made it to the other side. And, would you believe it, they concluded a measurement exactly the same as Mrs Sherwood’s trundle wheel result!
