Form 3 enjoyed a lovely stroll down to Purley Library on Thursday 9th June. They were warmly welcomed by Sarah who gave them some information about the library, and tested them on their knowledge of non-fiction texts. They had a fun quiz to see whether they could locate various books in the library and Sarah read a chapter of a story to the class.
Many of the children got new library cards which was very exciting! After the very difficult task of narrowing down their choices of book to borrow, they were shown how to check out the books with their cards and then carried them eagerly back to school. Form 3 can’t wait to get stuck into their new reads!
The class will be making information leaflets in Creative Writing lessons to encourage people to visit the library; using all of the knowledge they gathered on their visit. Purley Library are going to display the finished leaflets in the children’s library, where Form 3 hope to return very soon!
